Very late night in the Marin Headlands.
This is my first really long exposure HDR panorama with the D800E, and I’m still absolutely shocked at how well this thing can capture detail in limited light. It is in a completely different league than my old D200. I had to struggle with night shots on that, due to both noise and limited dynamic range. With the D800E, I can make a night shot look like it was taken in the afternoon - I didn’t here because thats pointless, but I could.
This one is a 2*5 exposure HDR panorama, processed in Photomatix, using a significant amount of pure RAW data in Photoshop instead of HDR. With that aside, processing was actually quite minimal. I like the way it looks like this - it’s unusual to see the moon shine quite like it does here.
